Help out the Triangle's First Ever Youth Club Championship Open and
Girls' Teams!!!!
<DONATE HERE>

Dear Members of the Triangle Youth Ultimate League,

We, the Triangle Youth Ultimate League in partnership with the
Triangle Flying Disc Association, are proud to announce that we have
been honored with two bids to the Ultimate Player's Association's
Youth Club Championships in Blaine, MN on Aug 8-9, 2009. This is
essentially the National Championship for Youth Ultimate and this will
be the first year that the state of North Carolina will be represented
at the Championship. (Yes! We agree this has been a long time
coming!!!) We are thrilled to be sending not only an Open team, but
also a Girls' team and they have both been practicing and getting
ready to head to MN to bring home a National Championship.

But, we need your help to get there. This trip is going to cost
approximately $600 per player and not to mention we are flying out the
coaches as well. That is a huge chunk of change for a high school
student. The $600.00 goes towards uniforms, plane tickets, hotels,
rental cars, player registration fees, etc. If you can donate
anything at all, even $10, the players would really, really, really
appreciate it. EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!

How is TFDA helping? Well, for starters, they are running the
donation site. Also, TFDA is going to match the YCC teams' donations
up to $1500. This should completely cover the costs of the players'
jerseys. Of course, everything above $1500 is going to help a great
deal as well. So, if you are feeling an itch to be generous, or
always wanted to contribute but could never figure out a way, here is
your chance. Click on the donation link here:
https://www.futuracreative.com/~tfda/secure/tyul_donation.php

You can learn all about the teams, see their jerseys, read about their
coaches, check out their practice schedule, look at their rosters, or
read about the event itself at the links below this letter...

*Donation site closes Wed Aug 5, 2009*

Thank you so much for your time.
Sincerely,

North Carolina All Stars (Open YCC Team)

ORDER FORM (download, fill out, get to Shellie Cohen)

Dear Family, Friends, Ultimate Players,

This year, TYUL is sending a girls' and a boys' team to the Youth Club Championships in Blaine, Minnesota on August 8 and 9.

We could really use some financial aid to help fund this trip, and so we are selling both the girls' jerseys (which are quite baller) and the boys' jerseys for 35 dollars each. They are Five Ultimate jerseys, wicking etc. If you could, please pass this information around to your families, friends and teams to let them all know that these will be for sale every weekend at summer league. I am on the red team -Super HITS- and I will have order forms for people to fill out if they are interested in purchasing one- or more :]. I will be collecting the money in advance (both checks made out to TYUL and cash), and the jerseys should get in by the weekend of the summer league tournament. (Deadline to turn in forms is July 18th)

Let me know at the games or by email if you or anyone on your team is interested in purchasing a jersey!!

We may also have hats for sale- not sure yet- but if you are interested, come talk to me.

I will also have a collection box if you want to just make a donation to the teams.

Thanks!!!!
Shellie Cohen

YCC Coaches Have Been Set!

The YCC Coaches have been set! The women's team will be coached by Brian Dobyns, Tammy Moose, Lauren Thompson and Leila Tunnell. The open team will be coached by Brian Dobyns, Raju Prasad and Wendell Wilson. All of our YCC coaches are nationals level players and coaches themselves and we are very excited to have them all on board. More extensive bios and contact information will be posted shortly.

General Information about YCC Teams
  • The athlete must not turn 19 before 6/1/09.
  • The athlete must be a full UPA member during 2009 (many students have done this to participate in the TYUL high school spring season). To become a UPA member: Go Here.
  • The athlete MUST have competed in the TYUL Club Summer League in 2008 or be scheduled to do so in 2009 (and have attended a minimum of two games). NOTE: Competing in the High School Spring League DOES NOT fulfill this requirement.
  • The athlete and his or her family will be responsible for providing funds to compete and travel with this team (including, but not limited to, paying for jerseys, food, travel expenses, and lodging). However, we do not want money to be a limiting factor, and will be doing everything we can to help with fundraising for both our YCC teams.
  • The team will be coached by at least two Level 1 UPA certified coaches and will maintain a regular practice schedule during the summer (schedule to be determined).
Ultimate Player's Association YCC Information
What's so Great about YCC?!
  • This tournament is for a National Championship! How many local athletes can say that they played for the National Championship? You can put it on your college application, or your resume!
  • This is a U-19 team. When you get older, you won't be eligible to play on a youth team anymore.
  • The tournament is held at the National Sports Center - the largest amateur sports facility in the world!
  • And if you happen to be more serious about a sport other than ultimate (..unlikely...), you can add ultimate into your cross-training for other sports.
